Many thanks for the angel cloth pattern. It looks really good!
Now I've just got to find the time to knit it up.
I can think of half a dozen people who should have it as a Christmas present ... maybe for next year?

Thank you again,

I was looking for an angel pattern for a pocket prayer shawl and by using Size one needles and wool fingering yarn, I was able to knit a 5" by 5 1/2 one that is lovely and just great for soldier to either tuck in their pocket or wear inside their helmets. Love this pattern

I'm having trouble finding the Handicrafter wool, which I normally use for my dishclothes. Can you recommend another type of wool that would work? Thank you.

amy-lynne......... said...

i don't use wool for my dishcloths but i have used lion brand wool for other projects and worked out fine.... don't know if that will help or not.... sorry

I have a friend who collects angels of all kinds so I'm thinking this pattern can be made into almost an afghan with an angel in each square. Thanks so much for the pattern.

amy-lynne......... said...

thanks for the kind words... enjoy

What size knitting needle would I need to use to make an 8x8 square? I want to use this pattern for charity. Thanks.

amy-lynne......... said...

just about everything i make or design os not a true square, i did find someone in Ravelry who had this suggestion though... i dont know if it will work or not... try doing a couple of rows knit only to do a swatch and guage it from there... i am a much tighter knitter since the time that i did this cloth so i couldnt really tell you what size needle to use, cause it will vary, sorry

Adjust pattern for an 8 inch square. CO 39 instead and decrease the length (possibly omit rows 5,6,7,59,60,61).

Cast on 33- K
Does this mean cast on 33 then knit all 33? Or is the cast on my 1st row? New knitter sorry for the silly question

amy-lynne......... said...

Hey Nichol,

depends on which way you cast on your stitches

long tail cast on creates an already knitted row where as if you use the single cast on method you need to cast on and knit the next row creating 1 row of live stitches = row 1...

check out this site...

sorry if i have confused you even more.... if you need anything else you can email me at and just put help in the subject line and i will respond as quickly as i can...

Anonymous said...

I don't understand, why do the rows skip numbers?

amy-lynne......... said...

anonymous, as it states in the beginning
"row 6 and all even knit across"
that is why there seems to be rows missing.... sorry for any confusion

Anonymous said...

oh ok thank you for clearing that up for me.

amy-lynne......... said...

you're welcome :)

I just used your angel cloth pattern in a baby blanket for a little girl who will make her entrance into the world in October. It is perfect for this blanket!!!

I used this angel in a baby blanket I made for a bay due in October. It was perfect for the project.

amy-lynne......... said...

xx- anonymous.... so glad it worked out for you... congratulations... :)

Anonymous said...

I wish there was a way to send you a picture of the baby blankets I have made that incorporate your angel pattern. I make it in 9 panels, alternating the angel and trinity stitch with angels in the corners and in the middle. I have made 3 so far - 2 pink and 1 green - and all have been raved about by the new parents!! I will continue to knit this afghan for future little ones. I always enclose an angel prayer with it, and say Angels are sleeping with the child.

oh that is so sweet... you can send me the pics at with angel pattern in the subject line and i will uplod it to blogger... every time i turn around blogger keeps changing settings so it my take me a few days to get it up though... thnks again and have a great day!
