My pirate name is:

Bloody Anne Kidd

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

BallonFest 2008 Day 2

ok i just had to post day 2 of the balloon fest here in our town... my hubby and i went to melanie's house (lilknitter) and on our way there we saw 2 way off in the distance... when we left and headed home we saw a bunch more so i called her and told her... well needless to say that once we got about 1 block from our neighborhood we saw that they were landing in the grocery store parking lot across from our neighborhood... i called her up and told her and she came on... we got home and grabbed the camera and walked up the road to see what was up and let me get more pics...this is what we got... not all by any means.... just a few...

this one went right over (pretty close if you ask me) to our neighbors house...

this one i thought was just too cute not to take a picture of...

if you look real carefully you can see the woman who was helping out (she's towards the root of the tooth in red) and you get a pretty good idea of how big these balloons really are and i would say at least half the air was out of it at this point....

this one landed in the other grocery store parking lot... just 1 row over from where melanie was parked

ok this concludes my balloon fest pictures for today... i am off to go check out melanie's blog and see her pics... so stop by and check hers out too... have a great day /night...chat at ya laters :Þ

Balloon Fest 2008

this weekend began the BalloonFest in our town... i had my camera with me so i could grab a few shots... i got to work before my boss did and she called me and said ... grab your camera and a drink and out a note on the door we are going to go watch... well these are just a few of the ones i took... these were taken yesterday (friday) around 8:30 am...

this was just a few of the balloons that were up and flying...

when we first stopped and was observing we ran into a couple of chasers... and they were telling us about the contest they were having so we went to observe....in the feild where all the people are standing there is a big X there and the balloons had to be so far up before they could drop their marker and the closest to the big X wins... you can see the white squiggly looking thing that's what they were dropping... it looked like a high air version of toilet papering...

on my way back to where my boss had pulled off the side of the road she was motioning to me to "look up" ... and i had my camera ready to go and this is what i caught... it was way too cool...

thanks for dropping by and looking at the balloons... have a great day/night... chat with ya's later :Þ

Savannah Grace Herring

just wanted to inform my friends that as of 9:05 am this morning we have a new addition to our family... meet Savannah Grace Herring... 6 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches long...

this next picture is of Savannah and her mommy and daddy....

i will post later on as time goes by but just got home and had to upload a few pictures and now i am off to go get in line to pick up my youngest child...hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL day... thanks for taking the time to stop in and take a peek... laters :Þ

finally finished and updates

this was my ravelympics project... it is made for my new niece/nephew (wont know if it is a boy or girl until baby decides to come into the world) who will be making a entrance in mid september... all they told me when i asked what theme are you doing in the baby's room was.... well something green and fun... well it is their other daughters that have dubbed me as "the crazy froggy lady" that made me decide to make this blanket... it is on my sale blog for $3.00 .... it only took 1.5 skeins of yarn...and is 26" x 27".... the yarn i used was from hobby lobby... i love this yarn... 100% acrylic... VERY NICE STUFF!!!!

in other news around here... the kids went back to school this week and all has gone smoothly... the boys really like thier teachers... so far... JK... and i am back to work in the daytime...

savannah will be here monday the 25th ... c-section at 8 am so we should have the newest member soon after 8.... i will be going to the hospital to see her and take pictures and post a few when i get home....

more news at a later time... have a great day/night.... laters :Þ

vacation at myrtle beach

this was my hubby,2 kids and m-i-l... at myrtle beach... the water was cool at first but after about 5 minutes you get warmed to it...

this is my hubby... he enjoyed the time just looking for sharks teeth... he found alot of them....

my eldest son thought it would be fun to bury himself in the sand and my youngest was happy to help bury him...

this was taken after sundown Thursday night... a man was fishing on the beach not far from where we were at and it looked like he caught something so my m-i-l went over and sure enough he caught this... it is a baby shark.... the kids actually touched it and asked 20 questions...

Well... the only thing i have left to say about our trip to the beach other than it was a great time to get away is.... mothers BEWARE.... just because you are a mom and put EVERYONE else ahead of you ...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take my advice here.... SUNSCREEN YOURSELF FIRST then do everyone else....i on the second day there was too worried about everyone else and after i finished the lil one they were all ready to go and i didn't even think about myself... WRONG MOVE!!!! i am so sunburned it is not even funny... it has been only 4 days since the sunburn and i can finally put on a light shirt without wanting to hurt someone....there are no pictures of the sunburn at this time... ( i am seriously photo phobic ) ... well i am back and have alot of knitting to do ... i took it with me to do but that didn't happen....well more later... thanks for dropping by and have a great day!!!

bags

ok ... first off ... this is my very first bag that was knit in the round and as things never fail i had the wrong sizes... should have been a US 5 and US 10.5 buttttttttttt.... i had US 10 and US 15... LOL....i like these colors to a certain extent and as "someone" calls this bag "granny panty bag"... i am giving this one to my mom so she can tote her stuff in it... if she puts alot in it it will stop around her ankles.... LOL...

now this bag is the original colors i wanted for my self... yet here we are with another problem... i only had 1 ball of the variegated... that was the only one i could find in this county....so i made it for my 5 yr old niece... perfect for a lil girl... the problem with this is my dearest friend who got me addicted to this bag told me that only 2 balls of cotton would be enough... well this is only 2 balls.... we even checked my needles and they are the correct size so the big question here is......... why can anyone else who makes this bag can make it with only 2 balls and it come out bigger and i on the same size and same cotton make it and it be small.... GO FIGURE...

bags 2

this bag i made for my sons principal... shes pretty cool... i made this one on the right size needles but still had to use 3 balls of cotton.... if i hadnt already designated this bag to her i would keep t for me.....

this one was made using acrylic yarn... it is for my sons teacher ... her favorite colors are turquoise pink and yellow... well after much thought and all i just could NOT do yellow in it...

a few "new" firsts for me....

ok... first of all melanie has been trying for i don't know how long to get me to do new things... like knit in the round, yo's, and too many other things.... well she finally got me hooked... i have been watching her knit 90 goin' north on these everlasting bagstoppers and i have fallen in LOVE with them.... it started out that i would do the bottom and she pick up stitches and get me going on in the round stuff ..... but.... i did it!!!... she showed me how to pick up the stitches and i got the hang of that right off... i did manage to get a few extra stitches on the bag though.... fixed that problem ....i even joined in the new yarn and started in the round... i am still getting the hang of the in the round business.... but this bag is ... as melanie puts it... mindless once you get goin'... the colors are... the bottom (and handle when i get there) is sugar n cream pistachio and the body of this bag is sugar n cream landscape... once i get more of the body finished i will post it with the bag upright so you can get a better looksie.... have a great day!!! laters :Þ

i did it

this is our first stitch KAL in the group and it turned out so pretty. .... Shirl designed this cloth... this is my very first cloth like this.... in the past i would have seen the pattern and just kept going.... but thanks to shirl for the design and mel for the hands on help i finally got it....and also a thank you to all the members of shirley's knitting knook for all the help to the people like me who love to knit but just don't get it sometimes and for being so patience... i cant wait for next month mid- month kal to try my hand at this type again...

finally revealed

ok... first off i just want to say thank you to all those out there that has bared with me while i worked on my project...i have a new free pattern ... i love you in asl ( american sign language )... my new site... Frogiez Market Place has the entire alphabet in asl.... as i stated in a earlier post.... i started with the idea of doing the asl alphabet in dish/wash cloths around thanksgiving... well i had to design it... chart it.... write it out... then knit it up.... not only doing that but i had a few other projects that i had to do too.... i am surprised that i actually did it and finished... so with out delay here we go............thanks again and have a great day !!!!

i love you in asl
