Have you thought of making this into a breast cancer awareness blanket? instead of the hearts put the awareness ribbon and instead of the sign in the middle put the word "hope" or something? I"d love to try and make that pattern but have no idea how, if you would make it i'd be soooo appreciative!

amy-lynne......... said...

Anonymous, sorry this is late getting back to you... someone else had mentioned that or something similar to that.... i can try to make up a pattern like that ... i cant say when i would get a chance to design it but i am willing to try.... thanks for the suggestions... amy-lynne

Hi there, I love the "I love you" baby blanket, I've made it for my local animal shelter, and it's a big "hit." You'll be happy to know that I'm going to use that pattern for a relay for life thing, as a donation from the animal shelter. Thank you.

Beautiful. I travel frequently to visit grandchildren and have used this sign with them since birth. It is so precious seeing them tiny babies trying to get their fingers just right to sign back to me. They've all got it down perfect now. As soon as they began to talk I would ask them what it means and they know. They're ages 3, 4, 5 and 6 now, too big for the blanket, but I still plan to make them each one in their favorite color for on their bedroom walls and hopefully a happy memory of grandma one day when I'm gone. I haven't knitted since high school, but this pattern looks pretty simple with only 2 stitches. Thank you so much!

Katrina,
Thanks for the kind words... I have used signs with my boys since they were little ones too, now they are 17 and 23 and still do the i love you sign when ever they leave just to let me know non verbally... my niece who i made this for has also out grown it but they too have it hanging on her wall... it is only a knit and purl stitch, if you need any help just shoot me a line at frogiez01@yahho.com with blanket help in the subject line and i will get to you asap... enjoy and have a great day :)

Hi, beautiful pattern!! I have a 6- year old granddaughter with Williams Syndrome and she is non-verbal still. Kids with Williams Syndrome are smaller than normal children but she is probably as tall as a 5 year old. Anyway I want so bad to make this blanket for her but is there any way you could tell me how many more stitches to cast on in order for it to come out a bit bigger but still keep the pattern. I would be so grateful, thank you!

amy-lynne......... said...

Shannon Luff, good morning.... if you send me your email address to frogiez01@yahoo.com i can send you some information that might help you.... just put in blanket help so i don't miss it.... look forward to hearing from you.... if i don't hear from you by wednesday of this week i will try to post a response here for you... have a great day!

Amy:)
I am knitting this pattern for a friend of mine's baby and it is so easy to follow I love it. i had to start over on it because i made the mistake of putting it down to finish another project and forgot where i stopped at. That'll teach me not to keep track of my rows. I am on the 45th row. will take a picture of it when finished. I am knitting it up with a Bernat variegated baby color yarn. Thank you for sharing this pattern.
